The production process of quick dry sublimation paper
Oct 16, 2024
The production process of quick dry sublimation paper mainly includes the following steps:
1. Raw material preparation
Select high-quality base paper: Usually special coated paper or offset paper is used as the base paper, and the paper is required to have good flatness, uniformity and strength to ensure that there will be no deformation, wrinkling and other problems during printing and transfer.
Prepare thermal sublimation dye: Thermal sublimation dye is the key material of transfer paper, and its quality directly affects the transfer effect. Select thermal sublimation dye with bright color, high color fastness and good stability.
Prepare coating material: The coating material is used to form a uniform coating on the base paper to improve the adhesion and transfer effect of thermal sublimation dye. Common coating materials include polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyacrylate, etc.
2. Coating preparation
Mix the coating material with an appropriate amount of solvent (such as water, ethanol, etc.), stir evenly, and make a coating solution.
Use a coating machine to evenly apply the coating solution on the surface of the base paper to form a coating with moderate thickness. The coating method can be blade coating, roller coating, spraying, etc.
The coated paper is dried to remove the solvent in the coating and solidify the coating. The drying method can be hot air drying, infrared drying, ultraviolet drying, etc.
3. Dye coating
Mix the thermal sublimation dye with an appropriate amount of solvent, stir evenly, and make a dye solution.
Use a printing machine or a coating machine to evenly apply the dye solution on the surface of the coating to form a brightly colored dye layer. The coating method can be gravure printing, flexographic printing, screen printing, etc.
The coated paper is dried to remove the solvent in the dye and solidify the dye. The drying method can be hot air drying, infrared drying, ultraviolet drying, etc.
4. Post-processing
The dried transfer paper is surface treated, such as calendering, laminating, etc., to improve the flatness, glossiness and wear resistance of the paper.
The transfer paper is slit and packaged for easy storage and transportation.
5. Quality inspection
The quality of the completed quick dry sublimation paper is inspected, including appearance quality, dimensional accuracy, coating uniformity, dye adhesion, transfer effect and other aspects.
Use professional testing equipment and methods, such as microscopes, colorimeter, tensile testing machine, etc., to test and analyze the various performance indicators of the transfer paper.
According to the test results, rework or scrap the unqualified products to ensure that the quality of the transfer paper shipped meets the standard requirements.
The above is the production process of quick dry sublimation paper. Different manufacturers may make appropriate adjustments and optimizations to the production process according to their own technical and equipment conditions.
