Materials for making self adhesive sublimation paper
Nov 02, 2024
The materials for making self adhesive sublimation paper mainly include the following parts:
1. Base paper layer:
Paper fiber: Generally, high-quality wood pulp paper, such as paper made of coniferous wood pulp, is selected. This kind of paper has longer fibers, which can provide better strength and stability. It is not easy to become brittle or yellow when treated at high temperature, and can withstand the high temperature and pressure during the transfer process.
2. Coating material:
Ink-absorbing coating:
Porous materials: such as graphene powder, viscose fiber, etc. These materials have rich pore structures and can quickly absorb sublimation ink, so that the ink is evenly distributed on the paper, ensuring the clarity and color saturation of the transfer pattern.
Binder: Commonly used are polyvinyl alcohol, chitosan, etc., which are used to bond porous materials together and attach them to the base paper layer to ensure the stability of the ink-absorbing coating.
Additives: In order to improve the performance of the ink-absorbing coating, some additives are added, such as plasticizers, which can increase the flexibility of the coating and prevent the coating from cracking; dispersants can improve the dispersibility of the coating and allow the ink to penetrate the coating better.
Viscous layer:
Viscous substances: including carboxymethyl cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, starch, polysaccharide materials, etc. These substances can produce viscosity under certain conditions, so that the transfer paper can be firmly adhered to the substrate when heated. For example, carboxymethyl cellulose has good thickening and bonding properties; polyvinyl alcohol has good bonding and water solubility; starch is a natural binder with low cost and wide source; polysaccharide materials can increase the viscosity and stability of the viscous layer.
Auxiliary ingredients: glycerol, pentaerythritol, etc. can play a role in plasticization and moisturizing, maintaining the flexibility of the viscous layer; defoamers are used to eliminate bubbles generated during the production process to ensure the uniformity of the coating; bactericides can prevent bacterial growth and extend the shelf life of transfer paper; alkyl phosphate potassium salts, etc. can improve the antistatic properties of the viscous layer to prevent static electricity from affecting the transfer process.
3. Other auxiliary layers (optional):
Antistatic layer: contains antistatic agent, which can reduce the static electricity generated by the transfer paper during production, transportation and use, and avoid static electricity interfering with the transfer effect or adsorbing impurities such as dust.
Anti-penetration coating (optional): usually made of resin materials such as polyethylene resin, urea-formaldehyde resin, etc., which can prevent ink from penetrating to the back of the paper and avoid contamination of the transfer equipment and substrates.
