Dye Sublimation Transfer Technology
May 11, 2022
Sublimation transfer technology appeared and developed in Europe and the United States and other countries in the last century.
Sublimation transfer printing method decreases environmental pollution since it doesn't require clean water and doesn't release waste water during traditional printing and dyeing. The State Economic and Trade Commission has placed a high priority on this environmentally friendly manufacturing technology, and it was included to the National Key Industry Cleaner manufacturing Technology Orientation Catalog at the beginning of 2000.
Sublimation transfer printing is to pre-print the ink with sublimation characteristics on the sublimation transfer paper according to the designed pattern, and then the paper surface printed with the pattern is contacted with the fabric containing chemical fibers, and thermal transfer is carried out under a certain temperature and pressure. The sublimation ink on the sublimation paper is sublimated at high temperature, and at the same time penetrates into the chemical fiber fabric, and sublimates after cooling. The ink sticks to the fabric, creating colorful, lifelike patterns.
Dye sublimation transfer technology can be divided into traditional sublimation transfer technology and digital sublimation transfer technology according to different printing methods.
The traditional thermal sublimation transfer technology appeared in the 1930s, and its main printing method is anilox roll printing; digital thermal transfer shift printing technology first appeared in the mid-1990s. With the continuous development of computer technology, it is a high-tech printing process that integrates machinery and computer electronic information technology printing method.
Digital sublimation transfer technology is mainly used in clothing and apparel, such as T-shirts, sportswear, children's clothing, swimwear, shoes and hats, gloves, silk scarves, non-woven fabrics and other garments and all kinds of fabrics, etc.: home textiles, such as curtains, window screens, tablecloths, shower curtains and sleeping bags, bedding, cushions, floor mats, aprons, etc.; outdoor leisure products, such as umbrellas, Bags, flags, advertisements, awnings, beach chairs, tents, etc.; craft gifts, such as hot water bottles, mouse pads, glasses cloth, mobile phone bags, advertising gifts, Christmas ornaments, fans, kites, art paintings, etc.; special treatment of ceramics, Transfer processing of glass and other products. Digital sublimation transfer technology is very suitable for the transfer processing of small batches and personalized products, and its application fields are becoming more and more extensive.
