Application effect of transfer printing and its existing problems

First, the application range and effect of transfer printing

Transfer printing has the best effect on pure polyester fabrics. Because cotton fibers are not colored by disperse dyes on polyester-cotton blended fabrics, the color is lighter than that of pure polyester fabrics, and there are "snowflakes" (blank) for large flower shapes. Phenomenon. Pure nylon fabric can also be transferred to printing, but the color yield is low and the wet fastness is poor. The transfer paper consumed by the transfer printing method is twice the length of the fabric, the waste paper and residual dye after printing are difficult to recover, and it is difficult to print dark colors, so it is mostly used for partial printing on some fabrics such as textured silk fabrics and knitted fabrics, and some Decorative print.

Second, transfer printing problems

First of all, disperse dye transfer printing is also used for natural fibers. In order to make disperse dyes adsorb, diffuse and fix on natural fiber textiles after sublimation, the textiles must be pretreated before printing, including chemical modification and pre-swelling treatment. Generally speaking, disperse dyes can be dyed with natural fibers after this pretreatment, but the fastness and color brightness are not as good as polyester fiber fabrics, and it is necessary to carefully select dyes or develop new disperse dyes. Another disadvantage of this method is that it needs to be pretreated before printing, which not only adds a processing process, but also has many ecological problems, such as the toxicity of the treatment agent, the consumption of energy and water, and the generation of sewage.

Secondly, the wet transfer printing of some ionic dyes such as reactive dyes is also being studied and applied. The disadvantage is that it consumes a lot of transfer paper. After printing, it is washed with water, which consumes water and generates sewage.

Third, there is no need for baking and washing after paint transfer printing, and there is no sewage discharge, but it has high requirements on pigments and adhesives, and also requires a large amount of transfer paper.
