How to use sticky sublimation transfer paper

Sep 11, 2024

When using sticky sublimation transfer paper, you need to pay attention to the following aspects:

1. Printing process
First, make sure to use sublimation ink for printing. Ordinary ink cannot achieve good transfer effect. After printing, be sure to let the ink dry fully. It can be placed in a well-ventilated place to dry naturally. Avoid transferring before the ink is dry, otherwise it will cause the pattern to be blurred and smudged, which will greatly affect the transfer quality. At the same time, according to the characteristics of the transfer paper and the performance of the printer, reasonably adjust the printer parameters such as print quality and ink concentration to obtain the best printing effect.

2. Preparation before transfer
For the substrate, it must be thoroughly cleaned and free of dust, oil and impurities. For example, the fabric must be pre-washed and dried, and materials such as metal and ceramics need to be polished and cleaned to ensure that the transfer paper can fit closely to the surface of the substrate and improve the firmness and clarity of the transfer. In addition, before transfer, avoid letting the transfer paper contact the high temperature environment for a long time to prevent the viscosity from decreasing and affecting the transfer effect.

3. Transfer process
It is crucial to strictly control the temperature and time of hot pressing. Generally, the heat pressing temperature is around 210℃ to 220℃, and the time is 20 to 25 seconds, but the actual parameters may vary depending on the type of transfer paper, the material of the substrate, and the performance of the heat pressing equipment. Before the formal transfer, it is best to conduct a small-scale test to determine the best transfer parameters. When placing the transfer paper on the substrate, carefully align the position, especially for substrates with irregular shapes, you can use positioning tools to ensure that the pattern is accurate.

4. Post-transfer processing
After the heat pressing is completed, do not rush to peel off the transfer paper. Let it cool down until it is not hot to the touch before carefully peeling it off. If the adhesion is tight, do not force the paper to be peeled off to avoid damaging the pattern. The cooling time can be appropriately extended. After peeling off the transfer paper, check the quality of the pattern in time, such as color saturation, clarity, etc. If there is a problem, analyze the cause and improve it, such as reprinting or adjusting the transfer parameters.

5. Storage conditions
Viscous thermal sublimation transfer paper should be stored in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight. It easily absorbs moisture from the air, so make sure the storage environment has low humidity. It is best to tie the plastic bag tightly to prevent moisture from affecting the use effect. At the same time, keep away from fire and flammable items to ensure safety.
