About tacky sublimation paper

The unique tackified layer on tacky sublimation paper is heat-activated. The tacky items are perfect for sportswear and swimwear. Stretchy fabrics have the potential to cause misalignment and image shifting during the transfer or calendaring process. This product will adhere to a cut piece of apparel in a flatbed or clamshell heat press when heat is applied during the transfer process. This will prevent ghosting, or the loss of details caused by movements during the transfer process, and help you lower production errors and improve quality.

The 2 most important factors about sticky sublimation transfer paper, is the stickness(tackness degree) and drying speed. Now in the market, almost all the sublimation paper, including tacky sublimation paper, the drying speed is not a problem any more. So that leave the tackness the most important. There are several things about the stickness:

How to choose the right tacky sublimation paper ?

Usually, the type of cloth or volume of a dark hue determines how sticky something is. The adhesive coating is engineered to respond differently based on the degree of darkness in the color. When using light-colored ink, the degree of tackiness decreases, while when using dark-colored ink, it increases.

Light colors are intended to have a low stickiness for effortless removal. After pressing out, you could see that the paper doesn't seem to be stuck to the slippery cloth. Nonetheless, the stickiness was effective enough to remove printing flaws or ghosting during heat press.

Furthermore, greater adherence is needed during the transfer of the dark color.

Put differently, the same paper's tackiness degree varies depending on the design and ink loading.

So for dark-heavy ink load, high tacky sublimation paper would be the best choice, and medium-heave ink load, use the medium tacky, and low ink load, the low tacky.  Strong adhesion would be not necessary in light-color imagines, rather might hurt productivity.
